In this episode, I’m speaking with Trisha Ross Anderson, the Senior Project Manager at Making Caring Common– an organization based at the Harvard Graduate School of Education that seeks to encourage the younger generation to express compassion and, as the namesake indicates, make caring common. Trisha also discusses the Turning the Tide report, an initiative that seeks to promote a healthy college admissions process for both colleges and applicants.
Colleges have been changing their admissions criteria, and what used to be considered important has now shifted to another set of standards. This news is so important to share with everyone, especially high school students, and I’m so excited that Trisha and I could extend this valuable information with you all!
TUNE IN BELOW:

NOTABLE QUOTES:
“Character and contributions to one’s community have become the center of, say, staff training– they’re having a lot of discussions about what that means for us here at X university.”
“We want students to strive for balance…. It’s instead about pursuing things that make you happy, pursuing legitimate interests, and finding ways so that your time is not spent on entirely self-serving activities.”
“There’s so much service that doesn’t get the ‘tag’ of service… like taking care of a sibling after school.”
