I’m Julie Kim, a graduate of USC & Harvard, and a college admissions consultant helping you get accepted into your dream college using your potential, strength, and passion.
How it all started
My family and I immigrated to the United States when I was in 3rd grade. My parents left everything behind in South Korea so my brother and I can have the best education in the United States.
I wanted to make my family proud and show them their sacrifices to build a better life for me were worth it.
Then things changed when I started high school.
While I was motivated to get accepted into my dream college, I didn’t know who to turn to for help with my college admissions journey. My immigrant parents knew nothing about the U.S college admissions process.
I was very lost. I always felt like I was missing something important.
…which constantly made me feel overwhelmed and stressed about my college admissions journey.
In all honesty, I was just following what everyone else was doing, which I knew wasn’t the right thing to do.
I also didn’t have a perfect GPA or the best SAT scores. Plus, I felt overwhelmed at the thought of taking on a ton of extracurricular activities to make up for my GPA when I was already so busy studying for all my AP classes. There just weren’t enough hours in the day for me to add a bunch of extra programs onto my plate AND keep my grades up.
...and i found it!
Instead of filling my days with random activities in the hopes of looking “well-rounded” to college admissions officers, I decided to go all-in on something I was TRULY passionate about: Education.
I began volunteering at a local elementary school and created a two-week math camp for underprivileged students. Not only was the camp wildly successful, but the experience changed my life for good.
That experience became my first ever Passion Project.
This project enabled me to land a research position at USC & helped me network with the UCLA Dean of Education.
And it got me accepted into USC, and eventually Harvard for my Masters in Education.
How it's going
Now, I mentor my students on how to get accepted into their dream colleges using my proven Passion Project System.
Students who are now off studying at Yale, Princeton, Stanford, UPenn, and USC, to name a few.
